Flights
near Spetses
There is no airport in Spetses. The closest one is Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", which has direct flights from most cities in Europe and main hubs abroad.
From Athens airport, take a taxi to Piraeus port to catch a ferry to Spetses. Allow 45-60 minutes for the ride as there can be traffic. You can also pre book a transfer to the port online.
Ferries
Ferries to Spetses depart from Athens Piraeus port daily, around five times per day. The trip lasts approximately three hours and is carried out by high-speed, passenger only vessels.
As cars are not allowed in Spetses, there are no car ferries to the island. The pier in Spetses is less than five minutes walk from the Poseidonion hotel along the waterfront, but the hotel can collect your luggage at the port by appointment. For the Landlubbers
You have the option to secure a private transfer service or rent a vehicle for transportation from Athens to Porto Heli port or Kosta port. From there, you can take a ferry with travel duration of 15 minutes. Alternatively, there are water taxis available departing from either ports which can take you directly to the front of the hotel (advance reservation required).
*Since private vehicles are not allowed on the island, cars may be safely parked at designated parking areas at Kosta port & Porto Heli port.
On the island you can move around by horse drawn carriage, boat or regular taxi.
